ADAF 2023 - Michel Platnic

PostHum Condition draws inspiration from the biblical narrative of the creation of the world. Combining painting and drawing stop-motion, Artificial Intelligence Image generation and special effects, Platnic transforms trees and plants into puppets manipulated by mechanisms that become an integral part of their development. Non-human and human organisms adopt the fragmented movement of machines, creating a hybrid visual representation in which technology has the potential to serve man and his environment, but also shapes it.

The video uses knowledge and technology to create an uncanny world that could mimic life perfectly if it weren't for the glitch of imperfections introduced by mindless algorithms. But does not nature itself contain errors? malfunctions?
